Taiwanese
American Oboist, Rong-Huey Liu, received bachelor and
master degrees
from Manhattan School of Music and Doctor of Musical
Arts Degree with Pi Kappa Lambda from USC. Her main teachers
included Rong-Yi Liu, Joseph Robinson and David Weiss.
As an experienced solo recitalist and chamber musician,
Rong-Huey also serves as the principal oboist of Asia
America Symphony, Riverside Philharmonic and substitute
oboist and English Hornist for the Fresno Philharmonic,
New West Symphony, Pasadena Symphony and San Diego Symphony,
LA Opera Orchestra and LA Phil. Rong-Huey
can
be heard on recordings with David Benoit, Bright Eyes,
Ron Isley, to name a few. Rong-Huey is on faculty at
the Riverside Community College and La Sierra University.
She resides in the desert with her husband Steven Schmidt
and baby girl Autumn. Rong-Huey is the web designer for
the Mládí Chamber Orchestra.
